Douan Taketora (道安武虎 Dōan Taketora, Funimation: Doan Taketora) is a character introduced in Plunderer. He is one of the antagonists of the series. He is also one of the 7 Legendary Red Barons, known as the "Heavy Baron" (重撃の撃墜王 Jūgeki no Gekitsui-ō, Yen Press: Ace of Crushing Blows, Funimation: Ace of Heavy Strikes).
Appearance[]
Taketora is a tall man. He has spiky red hair in which some portion, includes the bangs, appear to be cyan. His eyes are similar to that of a goat or sheep with long eyelashes. He is mostly seen wearing the standard uniform, although he frequently does not don the button, which reveals his muscles.
Personality[]
He may come off as rude and dangerous, but when it comes to protecting those he cares for, Taketora will not hesitant to make those in the wrong suffer. And while says he hates Licht, he has a habit in coming to his aid when needed.

Past Events[]
Young Taketora cries and smile for the first time
Taketora was abused and neglected by his parents due to his ugly face as a child, which makes him feel as though he was in a living hell. One day, Taketora decided to run away from home to escape his father's abuse, he wound up meeting Sonohara Mizuka in a garden. Mizuka asked Taketora to play with her, and as thanks for spending time with her, Mizuka made a flower wreath for him to wear. As a result, Taketora cried and smiled for the first time in his life. Taketora remarked his meeting with Mizuka as the happiest period of his life and has called her an angel even since. That day he swore he would protect Mizuka from any danger, even if she would end up hating him for it.
During Taketora's middle school time, he overheard Mizuka's friends saying that they planned to take advantage of Mizuka due to her being wealthy and bully her and then again trick her and pretend that they were just playing a game between "friends", which made him furious and beat them up to make them apologize. Coincidentally, Mizuka went to talk to them and witnessed Taketora attacking them, which made her mistakenly believe he was bullying them instead. Because of this, Taketora was referred to as a bully by everyone ever since. Taketora understanding his appearance naturally makes people dislike or fear him, he decided to take this to stride and instead use this new status to protect Mizuka despite her now fearing him.
Taketora bullies Mizuka
Taketora later went to 13th Special Military Forces School and train to become solider. During his first day on training school, Taketora goes and bullies Mizuka and steals her stars. Soon, when Sakai Tokikaze said that he had stolen the stars from her, Taketora "asks" Mizuka to tell them that she indeed gave her stars to Taketora without any violence, Mizuka had no choice but to follow what he had "asked" her to do. Then, he also asks Tokikaze to gives his stars to him too, in exchange for his "geezer's" life. Tokikaze have no choice but gives his stars to him. As Taketora leaves, Jail Murdoch (Who's time traveled back to the past from future) comes in front of Taketora and said he was a scam, which angered Taketora. When Jail tried to fight Taketora, Tokikaze stopped him and said this is his personal problem. At 18:00 PM, Taketora began to leave the school due to him having collected 10 stars. As he leaves, Jail stands in the gate and tells Taketora that if he dare to leave the school, he will stop him for his shitty behavior. Taketora was angered and wants to punches Jail. Before he could do so, Schmelman Bach comes to stop them and asking Taketora where's his stars. Taketora then shows his stars to Schmelman, although it's revealed to be fake as Sakai Rihito steals the stars from him back before he leaves the school. Due to only have two stars, Taketora have no choice but staying in the school.
A few months later, Taketora has once again stolen Mizuka's stars. Taketora explains to Rihito that he stolen Mizuka's stars was because she is too weak and don't deserves to become soldier. Rihito then said that it's Mizuka's choice to remains training in school or leave, and told Taketora to returns Mizuka's stars back. Taketora, instead of following what he said, he punches Rihito instead and said that he is a idiot for forming an "Non-Killing Army". He also said that the war won't ends as long as the enemy is still alive.
When the Abandonment War was begin earlier due to the approval of Althing, Taketora tried to fight against the enemies while protecting Mizuka, but both of them was defeated instead. After both of them was defeated, Taketora was punches by several soldiers while the others are toying Mizuka's long hair. Taketora and Mizuka was later saved by Jail and the others.
Taketora and Licht made a promise
Sometimes later, Taketora is one of the people that chosen to becomes the Red Baron. During one of the mission, Taketora was works together with Rihito (who renamed himself as Licht Bach). As Licht can't kill the children due to Schmelman's gene of loving children, Taketora comes to kill the children instead. After Taketora killed a child, he was attacked by Licht and he asks him that if he killed that child or not, Taketora said yes and said that he's an enemy so they can't keep him alive. Licht apologies Taketora about his attack afterward. Then, Taketora made a promise with Licht that they will kill all their enemies together so that the Abandonment War can be ended.
After the end of Abandonment War, Taketora is still working on the Special Service faction.

Special Service Arc[]
Taketora prepared to kill Licht
Taketora made his returns in Chapter 30, he was ordered to kill Licht. When Licht arrived at Abandoned Capital Hoffnung, Taketora immediately uses his gravity ability to stops Licht, so he won't able to move or uses his speed of flash ability. Taketora stated that he don't hate Licht's action but he won't allow him to stop the Special Service and killed Licht. After Hina and the others found Licht's corpse, Taketora and his soldiers captures them as well.
When Lyne Mei and the others was awaken, Taketora wonders why are they appeared in his memory, even though they're not suppose to be around in 300 years ago. Taketora then realized that it was Nana Bassler's time travel ability that changed his memory. Lyne asks Taketora that if he really killed Licht or not, he said he did and stated it was his punishment for broke their promise. When his soldier informs him that Schmelman are coming, Taketora was angered and asking him why informing Schmelman about them. Then, Taketora noticed that Schmelman was arrived and warmed Lyne and the others that Schmelman is no longer the same person that's kind and loves children.
After Schmelman order his soldiers to give Lyne and the others a Baron surgery, Taketora was shocked and wonders what is he doing now. Soon, Taketora told the soldier to do some physical checks first before giving them the drugs, that soldier didn't follow it and stated Schmelman's orders must be followed, which made him furious and and kills that soldier. Taketora told the soldier that only the actual soldiers who had experienced the Abandonment War deserved to becomes the Red Baron. After he destroyed the base, Taketora releases Lyne and the others and told them to go away, due to he don't have a mood to kill them. As they leave, Taketora saw a Ballot dropped from Hina's bag. He stated he changed his mind and decided to kills them. Soon, when Hina is almost killed, she was saves by Mizuka. Taketora being angered and said why can't she just stays on Special Service faction to helps him. Then, he gives Mizuka a drug which can awaken her bloodlust genes.
Heavy Baron vs. Flash Baron
Later, after Jail went to saves Hina and Mizuka, Taketora being furious and tried punches him but Jail dodged his attack. Jail made a chair to sit and told Taketora "that guy" is coming, Taketora said he already killed him so he won't believe it. After Licht arrived, Taketora was angered and wanted to fight him but Licht told him to wait, he said he will wait until Licht finished his businesses to starts their fight. After Licht ended his conversation with Hina, his fight against Taketora was started. In the fight, Taketora wonder why can't Licht understand that they must kill their enemy in order to achieve their victory. Licht stated he will reforms the "Non-Killing Army" and ends the war in a good way, he also wonder why Taketora still keeping that same mindset for over 300 years despite he was also remorse at the creation of Althea too. Soon, Licht asks Taketora if he still remember the Abandonment War, Taketora said he will never forgot that war and their promise made in 300 years ago. Taketora was defeated by Licht afterward. After his defeat, Taketora gives Hina her Ballot back and stated he won't join Licht's party. He also gives Licht some information about the "Wall of Paradise" and said that he saw Class A students inside that wall in two months ago. While Taketora leaves, he wonder if actually seen them or it was just his illusion.
Taketora saves Mizuka
Later, when Mizuka was almost killed by Vier, Taketora went to saves her by smashing Vier's head. He told her to gives Licht's Ballot back to him and he will fight against the clones all by himself. Mizuka said she also wanted to fight too but Taketora said no because she's too weak to join into the battlefield. As Mizuka leaves, she said she hate Taketora so much. As Eins went to chase Mizuka, Taketora uses his gravity ability to slows her down and told her that "Flash" is weak aganist "Heavy", in which annoyed Eins and said that's Licht's ability not her. Soon, the clones revealed their count have 500000 and stated the new generation are several times much stronger than old generation. This caused Taketora to activate his bloodlust genes to increases his counts. He told the clones that the reason why he didn't rely on his bloodlust genes that much, was because the bloodlust would also ends up killing himself too. As he using his gravity ability, Zwei asks him that if he really bullies Mizuka or actually protects her, Taketora said he never protect her once before. Zwei then said Taketora was lying because it's too obvious that he protecting her since the beginning, based on her flashbacks showed by Sechs. Taketora keep denying that he did protect her,
Licht standing behind Taketora
he explains his past and his relationship with her to the clones, that he first meet her in a garden and he fell in-love with Mizuka. While he fell in-love with Mizuka, he don't know how to express his feeling to her due to his terrible past, so he can only protect her in a violence way. He also said that Mizuka fit better as a angel in a garden than a soldier. Soon, Licht stated Taketora that he was a loser because he can't express his feeling to Mizuka, Taketora told him to shut up and explains he will feel nervous if he do so.
After Licht arrived, Taketora asks him if he able to defeats the clones or not, and he answered that he can if they work together. When the clones prepares their attacks, Licht told Taketora to fight their enemies by orders. While Taketora said he was annoyed at that, he follows exactly what Licht said and uses his gravity ability to the clones. As soon as Licht took Sieben down, Taketora took his gun and tried to kill her, but Licht stops him for doing so. This caused Taketora furious at this and blaming him for keeping Mizuka train in the school, and Licht replies that if she leaves the school, not only she will never becomes the Red Baron but she will also died somewhere in Japan. Licht also stated it's better for Mizuka staying on school because Taketora will protect her. Taketora feel annoyed and stated he really can't stand him even after 300 years, Licht said he actually like him too and Taketora told him to shut up. Soon, Taketora noticed Vier were standing behind him and tries to kill him. However, Taketora was too late to protect himself as he's dealing with other clones at a moment.
Taketora being protected by Mizuka
When Vier's attack almost hitting Taketora, he was saves by Mizuka via her "Pursuit" ability. She stated that she hate Taketora was not because he keep bullying her, but because he keep pretend himself to be a bully while protecting her. Mizuka also hate Taketora at the fact he never called her by first name again. Then, Taketora told Licht to actives his bloodlust genes to increases his count, and that he will also actives his bloodlust genes too. Licht worries at him because Taketora's bloodlust genes could kill him, Taketora explains that bloodlust won't kills him due to he no longer have his regret anymore. Soon, Taketora actives his bloodlust genes and uses his gravity ability on the clones, while Licht actives his bloodlust genes to increases his count so the gravity won't affect him. Then, Taketora and Licht defeated the clones. After they defeated the clones, Taketora said the clones are like the rookies who uses the tanks for battle. He explains that while the clones have high counts, they're inexperience when comes to war which caused them lose.
Taketora cheers up Licht
Taketora also explains if they're fight against the actual Class A students, he and Licht will be the one who being defeated. Then, Taketora was annoyed at the fact Licht didn't kill the clones, and he replies they're the "Non-Killing Army" so therefore killing is forbidden. Soon, Taketora stated he will temporary joins the "Non-Killing Army" and help him to fight against the White Special Service.
Last War Arc[]
After they defeated the clones, Taketora made a flower wreath for Mizuka to wear, as a apologize for his actions against her, in which Mizuka smiled. Soon, Jail having a conversation with Licht's group via Erin's ability. During the conversation, Gespenst Zerlegen revealed his strategy that Jail has to take the Royal Guard back from the Special Service, while Taketora replaced Licht's position as a leader to command the group, as Licht is still suffering the injures he got from his previous battle, and to train Mizuka, Herz Vaalheit and her henchmen to become more stronger.
During Jail's fight against Robert Du Vanvich, along with Licht and the others were watching their fight. During that fight, Taketora explained that Jail has no chance to win, as Robert is a experienced soldier with strong abilities that he has a potential to become the next Supreme Commander of the army. More importantly, Jail can't use Alexandrov's Ballot due to Firenda has set a limiter which anyone but those of Barons were not able to use it. This leads Jail being not able to use flame to block Robert's attack and almost defeated.
Two months later, while Licht training himself somewhere in the forest, Taketora and Herz went to meet him. As Licht thinking that he will face Tokikaze in the upcoming war, Taketora asked him that it would be better if he let him to deal with Tokikaze instead, but Licht stated it's unneeded and that he must dealing this by himself.
Taketora asks Hina a question
One day before the war started, Taketora asks Mizuka about her left arm and she stated she is totally fine with her cybernetic arm and she can live without Licht's help anymore. Taketora glad at her answer and said she became strong now. Soon, Mizuka asks Taketora if he's alright, as she has a feeling that he may do stupid thing in order to stop the fight between Sakai brothers, which he explains that he won't do anything so she shouldn't worry. Later that day, Hina is having a short conversation with Taketora about Mizuka,
Taketora cries as it's too late to stop the fight between the Sakai brothers
he says he doesn't understand how Mizuka became strong now when she's used to be a weakling who only cries in 300 years ago, which Hina explains that the "power of love" can change someone's personality. Soon, Taketora asked Hina about which person she doesn't want to see them die; the person she loved the most (Licht) or her kind father (Tokikaze). At first, Hina, stated that she will stop both of them from dying. However, after Taketora explained that her answer would only repeat the same tragically her mother faced in 300 years ago while crying, Hina can't answer his question and doesn't know what should she do.
One month later, the final battle between Royal Guard and Special Service has finally begun. Along with Licht's group, Taketora went to fight against Tokikaze and the clones. As the fight between Sakai brothers is about to begin, Taketora uses his gravity ability to sent everyone out from battlefield as far as possible and told Licht to uses his full strength. As Licht is consumed by his bloodlust genes, Hina tried to stop him but Taketora didn't allow her to do that, while trying his best to protect her from the fight. When Licht tries to uses his "true" Flashing Strike, Taketora explains to Hina that this is Licht at his full strength and his speed now is so ridiculously fast that he can create shockwave blasts to attack his enemies around while moving. Taketora also stated that this ability is one of the biggest reasons why Licht is considered as the strongest Baron. As the fight continues, Taketora asked Hina again about which person she wants to keep them alive, but she said she doesn't know what to do anymore and cries. Soon, Mizuka appears behind them while being injured by both Licht and Tokikaze's attacks, asking Taketora that if Licht is really being serious or not which he soon realized that Licht is holding back during the fight. Mizuka also said that there's still a way to stop the fight between Sakai brothers, based on how Licht keep holding back, in which both Jail and Alexandrov agreed when they arrived in the forest. In order to stop the fight, Alexandrov orders Erin and Gespenst to let everyone in the battlefield to reads Licht and Tokikaze's minds, in which they saw Licht and Tokikaze's past before they met each other.
Taketora and Jail prepared to stop the fight
When both Tokikaze and Licht completely lost their sanity, Gespenst told Taketora to kill one of them as soon as possible before both of them ended up dying, Taketora had no choice but went to kill Tokikaze. Just when Taketora was able to kill Tokikaze, he was stopped by Jail who claims he doesn't want to see either of them died. Jail stated that he already got this impression back when they first meet in the training school, that Taketora doesn't actually hate Tokikaze and he seen him as a friend in the same way as he did with Licht and Mizuka. Jail also told Taketora that nobody wishes him to carry the burden alone so he don't need to force himself to do the thing he don't like. After Taketora calmed down his mind, he asks Hina that if she still wants to save Licht and Tokikaze even when doing so may potentially kill her, and Hina said yes while crying. Soon, Taketora told Hina and Jail to work together with him to stop the Sakai brothers. Taketora said that he would try his best to slows them down with his gravity, while Jail need to keep throwing his iron pillars at them to interrupts their fights so they could enter the field and stop them.
Jail, Taketora, and Hina attempt to reaches the Sakai brothers
With Gespenst's mind reading ability and Erin's telepathic, the trio were successful to enter the field. However, the closer they reaches the higher chance they would got slashes by the Sakai brother's attacks. Because of this, Taketora and Jail tried to just move straight forward without thinking too much but it still doesn't work due to their speeds were not fast enough to dodge. After learned that it's impossible to reach in front of the Sakai brothers, Hina decided to broke her promise with Taketora earlier and requests him to stay with Licht for another 300 years long, as she is prepared to sacrifices herself to save them. Taketora tried to stop her but she didn't listen. Hina stated that her count stands for how much she want to meet Licht while travelling, so it's her job to share same pain with him and help him if he's on trouble. As everyone thought she was killed, it was soon revealed that Eins saved Hina from their attacks and the Sakai brothers regained their sanity.
Jail and Taketora being defeated by their own abilities
After Schmelman arrived in the forest and brainwashed the clones, along with Jail, Taketora told Tokikaze to be prepared to fight against the berserked clones. While Tokikaze stated he can't kill the clones, Taketora and Jail says that they only need to holds the clones back until the effect of the drug has gone. As Licht is about to fight against Schemlamn, both Jail and Taketora stated that this is the first time they seen Licht being so angry. Later after Firenda revealed herself and freezed Licht, Taketora and Jail tried to save him but they were easily defeated by Firenda with copying their signature moves. After they've been defeated, Firenda keep stomping Taketora's face while claiming she will make the real Schmelman could suffers more despair.
When the clones finally gone berserked, Fünf went to strike Taketora with her lance. While Taketora tries to block Fünf's attack, he realized that the clones has became vastly more powerful than before and his gravity shield couldn't fully block her attack. While he is blocking Fünf's attack, Sechs standing behind him and soon knocked him out with her bat. The massive gap between the clones and Licht's group makes them realize that they might have all been killed before the clones could even regain their sanity back.
Taketora, Jail and Mizuka protects Nana for achieve their last hope of victory
Later when Hina said that she refused to sacrifice the clones, both Taketora and Jail told Tokikaze that they should never give up and said that Hina is a stubborn person so she must have a plan to change their situation. Soon, when Hina requested Nana to sent her back to the past, along with Jail and Mizuka stated that they will protect Nana until Hina's plan become success. While protecting Nana, Taketora said that he will also protect Mizuka as well, but she said that she felt annoyed at his overprotective attitude and claims that she can protect herself just fine.
When Hina's last hope seemly failed and Licht has been defeated, Firenda decided to kill everyone around the field along with the entire Earth. Just as Taketora and the others were about to be killed, they were saved by original Class A who has just "revived". When Class A saw Taketora's face, they jokingly claim that he must be on Firenda's side so they will knock him out, which Taketora is seems to be unhappy at them. When Firenda tries to use "flashing strike", Taketora uses his gravity to slow her down so she couldn't move.
Later when Licht's hair turned into black color, Taketora was showed to be surprised not only because of his hair color changes, but also because he is able to fully control Schmelman's genes and fused it together with his own blood to increase his count to surpasses Firenda's count.
Return to the beginning
After Firenda was defeated and killed by Alexandrov, along with Licht and the others, Taketora immediately went towards the Ende to meet the real Schmelman. Once they arrived at the gate, Taketora is curious about the inside of Ende and why was he willing to stay inside that place for over 300 years long. Once they entered the place, everyone was shocked because the place looked exactly same as Japan 300 years ago before the Abandonment War begin, as if they've time traveled back to the past.
Later on, when Schmelman was about to kill Licht, Taketora went ahead to block Schmelman's attack and asked him what's he doing. Taketora wonder that if Schmelman really wants to die so badly he should let Taketora himself to do that job for him, but Schmelman denied it and stated Licht must be the one who kill him instead. Taketora then wanted Schmelman to explains himself as if he doesn't, not only everyone around here would be so confused at the situation, but Licht also wouldn't kill Schmelman without a proper reason. When Schmelman explains the reason, he stated that neither Taketora nor Tokikaze are well suitable in the role of playing hero as both of them doesn't believe that saving both Althea and Abyss are possible, which means that neither Althea nor Abyss citizens would accept them as their heroes even if one of them killed Schmelman.
Epilogue[]
Three years after the final war, Taketora and Mizuka were married and given birth of their children. The family currently living somewhere at the farms.

Heavy Mask in the "world of darkness"
In the last episode of Plunderer anime, after Licht was absorbed into the black hole created by Taketora, seven Baron's masks was shows to be floating in the "world of darkness" and surrounding Licht. Taketora's mask is titled as the Heavy Mask (重撃面 Jūgeki-men, Funimation: Mask of Heavy Strikes).
The Baron's masks tries to convinces Licht to give up
Along with the other masks, the Heavy Mask tries to criticize Licht’s actions and advise him to give up and die. However, after he remembered his promise with Hina and the others, Licht destroys all of the masks and successfully escape by splits the "world of darkness".

Taketora conforts Nana as he went to the battlefield with Licht
In the fourth chapter, during the Abandonment War, Taketora asked young Nana if she know the enemy's location after seeing her trying to convince Licht to rest, despite knowing Licht has already been consumed by bloodlust by that point. While Nana tried to deny it, Licht stands up and asked her where's the enemy in which she had no choice but told him about it. While leaving, Taketora tries to confort Nana by saying that he will try his best to bring Licht's sanity back to normal.

As a Legendary Red Baron, Taketora possesses powerful abilities. Taketora's count is 122546. His count stands for how many people he made them yield/surrender towards him. During his battle against Clone Class A, his count increased to 612730 by activating Schmelman's bloodlust genes.
Taketora uses his gravity ability on Licht
- Heavy Strike (重撃 Jūgeki, Yen Press: Crushing Blows): Taketora's ability as a Baron, he is capable of manipulating the direction and intensity of gravity for both offensive and defensive means. It's also one of the few known abilities capable of countering Licht Bach's incredible speed. However, despite its great power, this ability can only affect those with a count lower than Taketora's.
- Gravitational Downforce: The ability to generate a crushing downforce of gravity in a certain area.
- Gravity Immunity: Due to being a gravity user, Taketora is immune to the effects of his Gravity based attacks.
- Gravity Shield: Taketora can create shields and shield-like objects out of gravitons to defend himself. He does this when he tries to protect himself and Hina from Sakai brothers' attacks.
- Gravity Projectile: Taketora can use gravity fields to propel objects as projectiles. This ability is only used on the anime adaptation.
- Gravity Telekinesis: Taketora can manipulate matter by controlling the gravity surrounding it. This ability is only used on the anime adaptation.
- Gravity Bullets: Fires a gravity projectile in short sequence over a wide area. This ability is only used on the anime adaptation.
- Projectile Enhancement: The power to enhance the speed and strength of projectile weapons through various mean. This ability is only used on the anime adaptation.
- Black Hole: Taketora can create black holes that devour matter and energy. This ability is only used on the anime adaptation.
- Bloodlust: As a member of the Red Barons, Taketora possesses the ability to increase his count by activating Schmelman's Bloodlust Genes. However, unlike other Barons, the activation of the Bloodlust Genes will cost Taketora his own life. Later, after knowing what Mizuka truly thought of him, his bloodlust is no longer fatal to him.
- Superhuman Strength: Taketora was noted by his fellow Red Baron, Gespenst, to possess the strongest physical strength out of the seven Legendary Red Barons.

- Taketora means "military, martial, fierce" (武 Take) and "tiger" (虎 Tora).
- According to the official Anime site, Taketora is a Class B student, despite his insignia being of Class C. The official website later fixed it and labeled him as Class C's student.
- Taketora was originally considered to be featured on the front cover of Volume 21. However, the editor rejected the idea in favors for the future version of Rina Bach and Douan Hanatora as the front cover[1].
